Modern Slavery Act Statement

1 Lombard Street Limited
Pursuant to Section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015

Introduction
This statement is made on behalf of 1 Lombard Street (Jessen & Co) in accordance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It outlines the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains.

About Us
1 Lombard Street is a landmark brasserie, bar, and event space located in the heart of the City of London. We serve a diverse clientele across hospitality services, including à la carte dining, private events, and corporate functions. As part of our commitment to excellence, we take our responsibilities towards ethical trading and human rights seriously.

Our Commitment
We are fully committed to ensuring that there is no slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, or human trafficking in any part of our operations or in the supply chains we rely on. We uphold the values of transparency, integrity, and respect, and we support the principles outlined in the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Our Policies and Procedures
We maintain a robust set of policies to guide our operations and uphold ethical standards:

Recruitment: We carry out thorough right-to-work checks during the recruitment process to ensure all employees have the legal right to work in the UK.

Employee Safeguards: We provide fair pay, safe working conditions, and clear contracts. Our HR team ensures compliance with UK employment law and industry best practices.

Anti-Slavery Policy: Our internal Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy is available to all staff and contractors. It sets out our zero-tolerance stance on any form of modern slavery.

Supplier Code of Conduct: All suppliers are expected to comply with our Supplier Code of Conduct, which requires fair treatment of workers, compliance with all labour laws, and proactive measures to prevent exploitation.

Supply Chain Due Diligence
As a restaurant, we procure goods and services from a wide range of trusted suppliers, including:

Food and beverage producers

Uniform, linen, and equipment providers

Facilities management and cleaning services

We undertake supplier due diligence based on a risk-based approach, especially when sourcing from regions or sectors known to carry a higher risk of labour exploitation. Where necessary, we include contractual provisions to reinforce our expectations and require compliance with anti-slavery laws.

If any supplier is found to be in breach of our values or policies, we will take immediate action, which may include terminating the relationship.

Ongoing Improvement
1 Lombard Street is committed to continuous improvement. We regularly review our policies, procedures, and training to ensure they remain effective. We also aim to raise awareness among staff about the signs of modern slavery and how to report concerns.

Conclusion
We believe that every individual deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. 1 Lombard Street will continue to play its part in eliminating modern slavery in the hospitality industry, maintaining transparency, and working with ethical partners who share our values.
