1 Lombard Street is not only the Square Mile's most established restaurant but arguably it's best placed, sited in pole position next to Mansion House, the official residence of the Lord Mayor of London, and directly opposite the Bank of England.
Housed in a former Grade II-listed bank, it was opened in 1998 by former banker Soren Jessen and comprises a restaurant, brasserie, private dining and events rooms.
1 Lombard Street is where the City meets for breakfast, lunch and dinner, launches new businesses, signs deals and celebrates profits. And it's even where the City gets married.
"My office was just by Finsbury Square when you first opened in 1998 and No 1 quickly became a favourite venue. What a tribute to you, in these days when restaurants open and close and there is so much competition, that you maintain such a consistently high standard"
John East, Director and Chairman of Corporate Finance Sanlam Securities UK Limited who has worked in the City for over 40 years
"This energetic Modern European brasserie works for a quick or long business lunch, particularly if you like mingling with the in crowd."

"The quality of the cooking is spot on & it's matched by sharp, tuned-in service."
